Oh dear.
There are a lot of things I can, and will, help you with.
I help prepare manuscripts for submission to literary agents or self-publishing platforms. My developmental editing and manuscript evaluation services help to ensure that your work is as submission-ready as we can get it.
I can also help guide you through the self-publishing process, with crafting compelling query letters, and with developing your author brand.
But--
I can't promise you publication. The industry is based on subjectivity. There's hard work. There's luck. There's talent. Now there's AI... I can't guarentee anything-not a contract, not a rise in sales, not an increase in readers or Bookstagram fans--because there are no guarantees in publishing.
What I can promise is to do everything in my power to help position you for a greater chance at success.
My 15 years of experience working across both traditional and indie publishing landscapes gives me valuable insights into what publishers and readers are looking for.
My job is to be your champion along the way.

When I say "tailored experience," I mean that I adapt my approach to fit your unique needs and goals. No two authors or manuscripts are the same, so I don't use a one-size-fits-all method. Instead, I take the time to understand your vision, your strengths, and your challenges, then craft a personalized editing or coaching plan that's designed specifically for you and your work. This comes down to customized worksheets, creative homework assignment, and even adjusting to meet your learning and communication style.
I encourage you to book a consultation call and we can explain the process in more detail, and with more direction towards you and your needs!

I believe in transparent, fair pricing based on the scope and needs of each project. I’m glad you asked! I know that edits are an investment, and more, I believe that quality edits shouldn’t be restricted to who can either 1) get a publishing contract or 2) afford to pay an arm and a leg every book to pay for them. I also stand behind the quality of my work and the time I put into it. I do not charge for any additional time or materials that allow me to create a customized experience.
After our initial consultation, I'll provide a custom quote tailored to your specific needs. That being said, I use EFA pricing guides. Rest assured, my rates are competitive within the industry, and I offer payment plans to make professional editing accessible to more authors.
I don't use a one-size-fits-all pricing model because every manuscript and author's needs are unique. For editorial projects, I charge per word. For individual or group consultations, I charge per hour.

Commercial fiction refers to novels written with a broad audience appeal, often in popular genres like romance, mystery, thriller, science fiction, fantasy, and women's fiction. I’ve edited, and take projects in, almost all areas of fiction. I try not to box myself in too much when it comes to personal wish lists or preferences, as I’ve often been surprised by what I wouldn’t think to ask for with a gem in the “slush pile”. I could tell stories about stories! Instead, I say I am character driven as a reader.
In terms of the specific genre list, I work with historical fiction, and narrative nonfiction. Genre-fiction, including, romance, suspense, thriller, mystery, historical mystery, women’s fiction and upmarket fiction, YA, and middle grade (historical or more serious, thematically). This also includes the subgenres (ex: romantic-suspense, and have I mentioned historical mystery yet?) and niche (I love a speculative fiction).
